The Boxed Silva Fox Whistle should be your go to Fox Whistle which when blown correctly omits 2 notes, the first a high pitched shrill which penetrates long distance can be heard for up to 2 ks away and the 2nd a harsh raspiness which adds panic and distress to the call when the sound of these 2 notes combine they omit a distress call which Foxes just can not resist.
The Silva “Mini” whistle is designed to be your back up or emergency Whistle, it attaches to your Key Ring and is there for the times you leave home and forget your Silva Whistle or when your hunting other animals apart Foxes and you see an area that you think you would like to whistle. You just reach for your keys and bingo you have a whistle in your hand. Because of its size, it is slightly harder to use and it’s not quite as loud but works extremely well and will pull foxes from quite a few hundred meters some hunters actually prefer the “Mini” because of it is very small size.
If you have never blown a Silva Fox Whistle or Tenterfield style Whistle, have never whistled foxes or have only used a round Button style Whistle, we highly recommend that you purchase the Instructional DVD. To start off you will watch 15 minutes of Instruction on how and where to place the whistle in your mouth and how to blow the whistle etc how to maintain and look after your whistle followed by 25 foxes being whistled, total running time 52 minutes.
